Top 5 Festive films

It's not long guys! And what better way to celebrate the build-up is by watching these festive films...

One of my all-time favourites. You would even find me watching Home Alone any time of the year - it's a classic. I'm just going to pretend that the third and fourth movie doesn't exist right now. This stars Macaulay Culkin (who has to be the cutest actor child ever btw) brings such life to the film. It isn't Christmas if you don't watch this over and over.

PUT THE COOKIE DOWN. NOW.

I rarely see this on TV, and I don't understand why. Arnold Schwarzenegger in a Christmas film... what more could you want?! A little fact: Ted, the neighbour, had voiced Troy McClure in The Simpsons and was shot by his wife. How wild!!!

Confession: I not long just saw this film for the first time...

I know, I know HOW and WHY?? I honestly don't know. But I am glad I have watched this film. I do love a Will Ferrell movie. He is hilarious, and I will continue to watch this every year now.

Want another confession? I think this is better than 'Love Actually.' I can imagine people are like, 'WTF?!' but I do love Love Actually and think it's one of the greatest films of all time and you're probably thinking 'So, why haven't you put this down?'... In my opinion, I just love The Holiday that little bit extra. You can't go wrong with this film, I mean, it has; Jude Law, Cameron Diaz, Jack Black and Kate Winslet.

Whats your fav Christmas film?

In The Bleak Mid Winter Your Home Doesn't Need To Suffer

It is getting colder, the nights are getting longer and there is that chill in the air that screams WINTER. It’s here, as much as some will love or hate it, we are in for the next few months of cold weather, snow even, and possible the gloomy storms. But, it is also a stark reminder that perhaps we need to pay some attention to our homes. Spending more time indoors will highlight whether your home heats up fast enough, whether you feel cosy and relaxed and happy to be indoors instead of itching to get out. Which is why I thought now would be the ideal time to share with you some of the ways you can get your home winter ready so that you can benefit from all that winter has to offer. Lots of chilled out times drinking hot chocolate and enjoying all of the festive comfort food - my absolute fav.

Investing in new windows

Let’s be honest, home improvements is possibly not at the top of your list at the time of year with
all of the expense of Christmas around the corner, but the truth is, now could actually be a great
time to make the changes to your home. Not only could you benefit from the home improvements
but you may find that winter gives you a fabulous quote. Windows especially may seem like a
costly job, but investing in something like residence 9 windows could benefit you in more ways
than one. Of course, your home will be more capable of keeping the heat in than letting it escape
through the window panes, but you could also find yourself saving on your energy bill as you are
less likely to crank the heat up all the time.

Ensuring that your home is insulated

On the subject of keeping the heat in your home, one of the easiest ways it can escape is through
the ceiling and loft. Heat rises, and if you don’t have an insulated loft space you will find yourself
losing more heat than is generated from your central heating system. However, this can be an
easy fix and something that can be rectified very easily. Again, this could provide a big saving on
your bill as you are likely to use less energy when heating your home.

Creating a cosy environment

Winter is all about staying indoors and so why not create a cosy environment to help you enjoy
your time in your home a little more. Perhaps investing in some new fluffy blankets, pyjamas,
lighting winter scented candles and getting all festive with the twinkly lights. There are some great
tips on Pinterest showing how to create a warm and cosy environment.

Winter proofing on the exterior

Finally, it may be a good plan to winter-proof the exterior of your home. After all, the last thing
anyone wants is flooding or problems with pipes. If your gutters are full of debris these can cause
damage and leaks, and ice can certainly expand those pipes allowing them to burst when the
temperature warms up. Thankfully, taking on some of those chores like clearing the gutters and
protecting pipework with an outer layer of foam can do the trick to avoid any nasty surprises during
the winter months ahead.

I hope these tips help you to ensure that you and your home don’t suffer this winter.

Why Iain Lee should win I'm A Celeb...

I honestly didn't plan on writing a post like this, but I feel quite annoyed with this years 'I'm A Celeb'. I am shocked at how three middle-aged men are picking on someone who has done nothing but be nice. Yes, he seemed like a know-it-all on his VT, and everyone chose Kez to win the trial that night, but I feel he is a genuine guy.

Firstly, there is NOTHING wrong with a guy like Iain who has anxiety. I am so happy with how honest he is with admitting this. There is nothing to be ashamed of, and we should be more aware of it. Secondly, he has done NOTHING WRONG. I have found it so uncomfortable to watch Snake 1, Snake 2 and Snake 3 Amir, Dennis and Jamie constantly moaning and picking on him. I noticed a few people say that they are not 'bullying' him. Yes, that is a strong word, but I honestly think that this is happening and I don't understand why.

I have always loved Iain and remember watching him on RI: SE before getting ready to go to school. He is a genuine guy, and I haven't seen him say one bad word about anyone. Here are a few reasons why Iain should win:

  • Won Kez's care package
  • Owned up to the strawberry-gate
  • ALWAYS thinking about others
  • Very open about his anxiety
  • Gave up his own email
  • Going on the show to help his mum out

Let's vote Iain and show him that we support him 100%...
